Design and Fabrication of Maxillary Subperiosteal Implants
In cases of edentulism where the patient’s bone atrophy is such that endosteal implants are not feasible, custom-made subperiosteal implants are a suitable alternative to traditional methods in the treatment of these patients.
Treatment Stages
1.
3D reconstruction of the facial bones
2.
Design and fabrication of the implant on the maxillary bone, with the abutment locations determined 3- through software-based planning using the virtual teeth created for the patient.
3.
This implant is fixed in areas of the maxilla that have sufficient bone thickness to accommodate the screws.
4.
Additionally, the design of these implants is such that minimal pressure is exerted on the screw sites.
